Incorporating relaxing and calming colours, alongside comfortable furnishes will soon evolve your home into that rich haven we crave to be welcomed by.

So what are the trends this season? Here are the 3 key trends to look out for:

Colours for this years Autumn/Winter trends are dark and moody. Not so dark that we make our homes look like a derelict cave, but softer more muted colours. Deep purples and greens, along with greys and navy blues are great for a feature wall along with a cool cream or a soft beige.

Wallpaper is also a great to use a feature wall and can still incorporate colour into the room. Try looking out for wallpapers with a soft floral design or even a stripe pattern to add a more diverse and quirky look.

Throws are a must when the weather gets cold. Nothing is better than getting cosy on the sofa with a warm throw and a hot chocolate. For this season chunky knits and faux fur throws are perfect for hanging over the sofas for décor and then cuddling up to in the evenings.

Quirky and heritage designs are also great accessories for this season. Stag heads and furnishes are also a gorgeous piece to add something a little different to the room to help transform a city home into a warm and cosy cottage feel.

Tartan has left the fashion walkway and walked into the world of interior design! Tartan is a great fun and bold print, perfect for both bedrooms and living rooms. Gorgeous in both a warm red or khaki green, it exhilarates both autumnal colours as well as adding a great feature wall or accessory to the room.

If you are afraid of bringing bolder prints into your home, why not introduce them slowly with smaller accessories before moving onto a feature wall or a recurring them. Maybe add a simple cushion, throw or decorative piece and see how the room works alongside the new print.
