Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re a brand, blogger or editor, looking for a freelance lifestyle writer to help you with modern day content creation. Hopefully…your search is over!
My name is Eilidh MacRae and I’m a freelance lifestyle content creator, based in Bristol. As the editor of a beauty focused magazine, a content curator and creator for a handful of unique and super current brands, and a ghost writer for up and coming fashion and beauty bloggers, my skills are vast, but my focus very clear: to create lifestyle focused content that doesn’t just work for its purpose, it excels.
I cover three main areas: editorial content for print, such as magazines and lookbooks, digital content for marketing purposes, including blog posts and social posts, and finally I ghost write for lifestyle bloggers.
I work a little differently to your traditional freelance writer; while I offer bespoke projects and work on a monthly basis for a handful of brands, magazines and bloggers, I also have an online store, which enables you to place an order as and when you need. I’m a firm believer that in this day and age, pricing should be transparent, and services should be made as easy to order as possible. For those of you who know exactly what you need, you can order online easily and efficiently, but I do ask if we haven’t worked together before, that you get in touch before you place an order.
My dream to become a writer started in 1995, when I was seven years old. At 22 I graduated with a BA Hons in Creative and Media Writing, and soon after began working for a digital marketing agency. Learning the ropes, a few years on I decided I wanted to work for companies I was truly passionate about, and so set up my own business, creating content for lifestyle brands.
In 2014 I was made editor of Vitality magazine in a freelance position, the members’ magazine for the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology. To date I have worked for a variety of lifestyle companies and publications, working specifically for fashion, beauty, health/fitness, interior design, travel and bridal brands.
Four years after making that leap to freelance, I’m still loving what I do, which is projected through my work and the results I have achieved.
